9. Dominican Rep. 1955 Peso, Trujillo Anv, Rare, 50k minted, 30k Melted, Rare CHBU.................$395 Here's a coin that is tough to get in Gem BU. The 1955 Peso, Trujillo Anniversary, original mintage of 50,000, but 30,500 were melted after his assassination, leaving the count to a mere 19,500 coins, and more were circulated and melted for its bullion value, especially when silver hit $60 during the 1980s. Most of this date normally seen ugly with numerous bagmarks and finding one that is decent is difficult. This one has nice cartwheel luster, sharply struck, nice facial feature, rounded with nice facial luster. Minimum facial bagmarks and exceptionally clean fields. A better condition coin that is not normally seen and a nice addition to your collection.
